IBM SDI Test Engineer

Job Description:
  • IBM AP SDI test analyse and debug support
  • IBM AP SDI Server product test process setup, maintenance and improvement
  • IBM AP SDI Talon Server setup, maintenance and improvement
  • IBM AP SDI Talon Networking and VPN setup and maintenance
  • New product and New process training to AP SDI Partners
  • Run SDI Talon projects

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or above required
  • Basic IBM System p and AIX knowledge and operation experience, 1 year or above of experience required
  • Good network and generial OS knowledge, priority goes to applicants with Linux/Unix or Cisco background
  • At least 2 years of technical support experience, priority goes to applicants with server product and technology
  • Ability to manage multiple/complex task under pressure
  • Logical thinking and well time management skill
  • Good English proficiency
  • Good communication/negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and high sense of responsibility
  • Strong case handling Skills


IBM Large Account Technical Support Engineer

Job description:
  • Provide support of System p products to IBM large account customer
  • Setup and configure the System p server with AIX/Linux and applications according to customer's requirement
  • Onsite support  to fix problem or provide training
  • Track and manage the equipment status

Requirements:
  • Basic IBM System p and AIX knowledge and operation experience required, basic Linux skill preferred
  • Be familiar and clear with concept of computer architecture, operating system and network
  • At least 1 years of experience in technical support job role
  • Good customer facing communication and presentation skill
  • Ability to work independently and high sense of ownership
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Good command of English for read technical manual and communicate both in oral and mail

这两个职位都是IBM regular员工。工作内容上有所区别,但是实际上所需要的技能都是关于IBM System p和AIX方面的。关于这两个职位的工作职责,SDI职位是支持IBM BP,Large Account Support是支持IBM大客户。大致可以理解为都是IBM p和AIX方面的工作,只是面向的对象不同。

我们非常欢迎愿意在AIX/p方面学习和发展的工程师,可以没有非常丰富的经验,但是一定要有比较扎实的基本功(也就是要理解硬件,操作系统,网络的基本概念和理论),正确的学习方法和态度。我们不需要也不欢迎只会按照写好的文档一步一步执行而不动脑筋的人;不欢迎一味死扣自己原来的经验而不愿意真正根据IBM文档深入理解的人;更不欢迎遇到问题只会到论坛求助,或者根据搜索到的过时或者不准确的文档进行操作,但是却不读IBM自己的文档的人。

所以,如果你英语能胜任英文文档阅读,愿意认真学习IBM的产品和技术,那么您就有机会。
